PIR roof sandwich panels

PIR Roof Sandwich Panels for Fire-Rated Cold Storage and Industrial Roofing

We manufacture PIR roof sandwich panels with a polyisocyanurate core (40–48 kg/m³) and corrugated steel facing for projects where roof fire performance is as important as thermal insulation. With a typical λ of 0.020–0.024 W/m·K and improved char formation at elevated temperatures, PIR roof panels meet stricter fire codes while delivering span performance comparable to PU at a given thickness. Shipped factory-direct from Shandong to Chile, Peru, Colombia and Indonesia.

Why PIR Roof Panels from LIAOHE

PIR (polyisocyanurate) delivers the thermal performance of PU with added fire safety. When exposed to flame, PIR forms a protective char layer that slows fire spread and reduces smoke emission. For cold storage roofs, pharmaceutical warehouses, and industrial facilities where the roof is a critical fire compartment boundary, PIR often satisfies insurance and code requirements that PU alone cannot.

We produce PIR roof panels on the same continuous lamination line as PU, with a corrugated roll-forming station before foaming. The chemical formulation is batch-controlled per order for consistent fire performance. End-lap and side-lap joint details are identical to PU roof panels, so your installation crew uses the same tools, fasteners, and sealant procedures.

  • Core material: polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam
  • Product position: roof panel system (3-rib / 5-rib profile)
  • Factory-direct manufacturing, Shandong
  • Export packing and container-loading support

Technical Specifications

Final production data must follow confirmed drawings and project specifications. Values below represent our standard PIR roof panel manufacturing capability.

ItemTypical / Available RangeQuotation Note
Core materialPolyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam, CFC-freeConfirm required density and fire rating class.
Panel typeRoof panel (3-rib or 5-rib corrugated profile, overlap joint)5-rib recommended for fire-rated roofs with longer spans.
Core density40–48 kg/m³ (standard); up to 55 kg/m³ on requestHigher density improves dimensional stability at elevated temperatures.
Panel thickness50 / 75 / 100 / 120 / 150 mmSelected by span, fire resistance period, and U-value target.
Thermal conductivity λ0.020–0.024 W/m·K (initial, 10°C mean)Aged values per EN 13165; U-value calculation included with quotation.
Fire performanceB1 (EN 13501-1) standard; B-s1,d0 achievable with confirmed formulationSpecify required Euroclass before quotation; PIR outperforms PU in fire.
Span capacity (single-span)1.5–3.0 m typical at standard loads (0.5 kN/m²)Comparable to PU at same thickness; project-specific span table provided.
Minimum roof slope5° (8.7%) recommended; 3° minimum with sealed side lapLower slopes require additional lap-joint sealant and end-lap waterproofing.
Effective width1000 mm standardCovers 1000 mm per panel after side-lap overlap.
Steel facing0.4–0.8 mm; top sheet PPGI/Galvalume, bottom sheet PPGI/Al-ZnStainless steel facing available for food-grade roof applications.

PIR roof panel pricing reflects the higher raw material cost vs. standard PU. Fire test reports (EN 13501-1) and span tables are provided with the quotation package.

Applications

PIR roof panels are specified where building codes, insurance requirements or owner standards demand improved fire performance at the roof plane.

  • Cold storage and freezer warehouse roofs — see our Indonesia cold room project
  • Pharmaceutical and vaccine storage roofs — temperature-controlled roofs with fire safety requirements per GMP standards
  • Food processing plant roofs — hygienic environments where fire-rated roof construction is mandatory
  • Industrial roofs with insurance fire requirements — projects where the insurer or local fire code mandates B1 or better at the roof assembly

Manufacturing, Quality, and Delivery

PIR roof panel production follows the same quality-controlled process as PU roof panels, with additional chemical formulation adjustments for fire performance.

Delivery Capability

Factory capacity, lead time and container-loading data for export planning.

Monthly Production Capacity

PIR shares the same lamination line as PU; formulation switchover is scheduled per order to maintain output.

Typical Lead Time

Standard specifications: 15–20 days after deposit. Custom colors, special coatings or non-standard thicknesses: 25–35 days. We confirm a production slot and vessel plan before order acceptance.

Container Loading

A 40HQ container typically loads 900–1,100 m² of PIR roof panels depending on thickness and profile.
