Why Rock Wool Roof Panels from LIAOHE

Rock wool (mineral wool) is fundamentally different from foam-core roof panels. The core is made from basalt rock melted at ~1500°C and spun into fibers. It does not burn, does not produce toxic smoke, and maintains structural integrity at temperatures that would destroy PU, PIR or EPS cores. For roofs over welding bays, foundries, chemical storage, public assembly halls or any building where fire insurance is a major cost driver, rock wool changes the risk calculation.

We laminate the mineral fiber core between corrugated steel sheets in a continuous press line. The result is a rigid roof panel that delivers fire resistance, sound reduction (Rw ~30 dB) and thermal insulation in one product. At 80–200 kg/m³, these panels are 2–3× heavier than PU roof panels — this affects purlin sizing, lifting equipment and container load planning, all of which we handle as part of the quotation.

Production Line

Continuous lamination with rock wool lamella orientation for maximum compressive strength. Corrugated top sheet is roll-formed in-line before the foaming station. Density and thickness are monitored per batch.

Heavy-duty packing with reinforced edge protectors, double steel strapping and ISPM 15 pallets. Rock wool roof panels are 2–3× heavier than foam-core: a 40HQ container may carry fewer square meters — we calculate load plans and weight distribution per order.
