Rock wool wall sandwich panels

Rock Wool Wall Sandwich Panels for Fire-Rated Industrial and Commercial Buildings

We manufacture rock wool wall sandwich panels with a non-combustible mineral fiber core (80–200 kg/m³) for projects where fire resistance, acoustic insulation and dimensional stability are the top specifications. With a melting point above 1000°C and Euroclass A1 achievable, rock wool panels are the wall system of choice for industrial workshops, public buildings and any project requiring the highest fire safety margin. Factory-direct from Shandong to Chile, Peru, Colombia and Indonesia.

Why Rock Wool Wall Panels from LIAOHE

Rock wool (mineral wool) is fundamentally different from foam-core panels. The core is made from basalt rock melted at ~1500°C and spun into fibers. It does not burn, does not produce toxic smoke, and maintains structural integrity at temperatures that would destroy PU or PIR cores. For workshops with welding operations, chemical storage, public assembly buildings or any structure where fire insurance is a major cost factor, rock wool changes the risk calculation.

We laminate the mineral fiber core between two steel sheets in a continuous press line. The result is a rigid panel that delivers fire resistance, sound reduction (Rw ~30 dB) and thermal insulation in one product. At 80–200 kg/m³, these panels are heavier than PU or EPS, which affects container loading calculations — we handle that as part of the quotation.

  • Core material: non-combustible mineral fiber (rock wool)
  • Product position: wall panel system

Technical Specifications

Final production data must follow confirmed drawings and project specifications.

Core materialNon-combustible mineral fiber (rock wool), basalt-basedConfirm required density and fire rating class.
Panel typeWall panel (tongue-and-groove / concealed fastener)Wall and roof profiles must not be mixed in one order.
Core density80–200 kg/m³; 100–120 kg/m³ is standard for wall panelsHigher density improves fire resistance and sound reduction.
Panel thickness50 / 75 / 100 / 120 / 150 / 200 mmSelected by fire resistance period (EI) and insulation target.
Thermal conductivity λ0.040–0.045 W/m·KHigher than PU/PIR; insulation thickness must be calculated per project U-value target.
Fire performanceA1 or A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1) depending on facing and adhesiveRock wool core is non-combustible; final classification depends on full assembly.
Effective width1000 mm standardWider profiles available on request for large-scale projects.
Steel facing0.5–0.8 mm; PPGI / Galvalume / Al-Zn coatedThicker steel recommended due to higher panel weight during handling.

Fire resistance periods (EI 30/60/90/120) are project-specific and must be confirmed with the full wall assembly. Rock wool panels are 2–3× heavier than PU/PIR — container weight limits may constrain order quantity per shipment.

Applications

Rock wool is specified for projects where fire safety is the primary specification driver or where insurance requirements mandate non-combustible construction.

  • Industrial workshops with hot work — welding, cutting, grinding areas; see our Guatemala 9,560 m² project
  • Warehouse and logistics facilities — large fire compartments requiring EI-rated wall systems
  • Public and commercial buildings — where local building codes require non-combustible envelope materials
  • Acoustic partition walls — noise-sensitive industrial environments, generator rooms, compressor enclosures

Manufacturing, Quality, and Delivery

Rock wool panel production requires specialized handling due to core weight and fiber characteristics.

Production Line

Continuous lamination with rock wool lamella orientation for maximum compressive strength. Density and thickness are monitored in-line; each batch is traceable to raw material lot.

Export Packing & Loading

Heavy-duty packing with reinforced edge protectors and double strapping. Rock wool panels are heavier than foam-core: a 40HQ container may carry fewer square meters — we calculate load plans per order.

Certifications & Documents

ISO 9001 certified. Fire test reports (EN 13501-1, GB 8624), material safety data sheets (MSDS), and acoustic test reports available with quotation.

Delivery Capability

Factory capacity, lead time and container-loading data for export planning.

Monthly Production Capacity

Rock wool lamination runs are scheduled separately from foam-core lines; typical monthly output is lower per shift due to handling weight.

Typical Lead Time

Standard specifications: 15–20 days after deposit. Custom colors, special coatings or non-standard thicknesses: 25–35 days. We confirm a production slot and vessel plan before order acceptance.

Container Loading

Because rock wool is 2–3× heavier than foam cores, a 40HQ container typically loads 500–700 m² of wall panels.
